Between Sea and Oasis via the Desert

Tataouine/Ksar Ouled Soltane/Chenini/Ksar ghilane/Zmela

-Morning departure for Tataouine, visit of the town with a stop at a traditional pastry shop to sample the famous local speciality: gazelle horns.

-Visit to the majestic Ksar Ouled Soltane, the former granary of the nomadic tribes.

-Continuation to the Berber village of Chenini, perched high in the mountains, followed by lunch.

-After lunch, departure for the Saharan oasis of Ksar Ghilane.

♣ Optional camel and quad ride through the sea of sand.

♣ Bathing in the natural hot spring (32°).

-Overnight in tents in the heart of the desert.

ksar ghilane/Douz/Chott el jerid/Mountain oasis/Tozeur

-After breakfast, off to Douz, the gateway to the desert, for a coffee break.

-Cross the mythical Chott El Jerid, an immense salt lake with fascinating mirages.

-Visit to the Chebika/Tamarza/Mides mountain oases.

-Lunch, then on to Tozeur.

-Overnight in Tozeur.

Tozeur/Mos Espa (Star Wars)/Matmata/Toujene/Djerba

-After breakfast, departure for the famous Mos Espa "Star Wars" cinema set.

-Continuation to Matmata, to visit the troglodyte dwellings, dug underground, a real speciality of the region.

-After lunch, stop off at the Berber village of Toujène, then return to Djerba.
