Berber getaway

Toujene/Matmata/Tamazret/Ksar ghilane/Zmela

-After lunch, drive to Ksar Ghilane, a magnificent oasis with hot springs and fine sand dunes.

-Take a dip in the natural spring (32°), then enjoy a camel ride or quad bike ride

in the heart of the sea of sand of the Grand Erg Oriental (optional activities, to be paid for locally).

-Departure by 4x4 along the track to the Zmela camp (20 km from ksar ghilane).

You can admire a splendid sunset over the dunes (if nature is on your side) and watch a traditional bread-baking demonstration.

Ksar Hadada/Chenini/Tataouine

-After a hearty breakfast, departure for Ksar Hadada, another filming location for the "Star Wars" movie.

-Continue on to Chenini, a Berber village clinging to the side of the mountain.

At the top, the ancient ksar still stands guard, preserving in its alveoli the treasures of its agricultural and caravanning past.

A village that can't just be visited... it can be felt.

Here, stone tells stories, the Berber soul endures, and every glance reveals the wild beauty of southern Tunisia.

-Visit the village, then lunch at Dar Guermessa.

-After lunch, stop off in Tataouine, then return to Djerba by road.
